Planned to be realesed on June 4th, it is finally tonight that the TI-Nspire OS 3.9 files have been uploaded on the TI servers, although they are not linked from their web pages for now.
The full version number is 3.9.0.461 and it was built on May 16, 2014.
As already announced, once installed it forbids you to go back to any older version, setting the minimum version accepted by the calculator to 3.9.0.455.
If you install this OS on your TI-Nspire CX with hardware revision J or later, you definetely give up on Ndless 3.6.
On the other TI-Nspire calculators, it is theoretically possible to go back, but only through the use of specific hardware tools you probably don't have on hand, in order to reflash an Nlaunchy compatible Boot2.
Apart from that, the increase in size is negligible, the OS having apparently grown up from the previous version by just over 10KB.
Included Boot2 images are still version 3.2.4.7 for the TI-Nspire CX and 3.0.1.131 for the TI-Nspire monochrome, and the TI-84 ROM for the TI-Nspire non-CAS remains version 2.56MP.
Overall, this seems to be a minor update in user features, but a major update from another point of view with a radical stop to Ndless 3.6 which had just been born.
